I sat there and watched through the unistall, reboot, install, reboot, still doesn't work cycle. Can't possibly be the first time, right? So point me at a google result (and share your key words with me!) that details how to correct this! The cable clearly says don't do this on a label that got ripped off after the first successful installation on the nearby desktop, but hey, stuff happens. Result, even after installing the Garmin drivers, the GPS appears more like a USB flash drive (d:/) vs. The laptop, a Sony Vio (?) had the misfortune of having the Garmin GPS plugged into the USB port before installing the Garmin USB drivers. He has two computers, and seems competent enough with them.
